What is Integrative Therapy?

Integrative therapy is the use of more than one therapy modality or technique during the process of the therapy treatment. The reason why this is useful is because people respond differently to therapies, different personalities require different treatments.  Some people like talking therapy as in counselling whilst others prefer more therapeutic intervention but, overall, whichever therapy is used each therapist is aiming to achieve the same positive results that the client or patient requests. It just happens through different therapeutic styles.  

Clinical Hypnotherapy is the use of trance in hypnosis when the conscious mind is completely relaxed and not 'on guard' but the sub-conscious part is very alert and open to change, this is the therapeutic intervention section of the hypnotherapy session.  Hypnotherapy is a heightened state of concentration and focused attention. Before each appointment, we discuss your aims and I explain the therapy process. This helps me achieve the best results for you within a number of therapy sessions, focusing on achieving rapid, safe, successful and lasting positive results.

EFT is Emotional Freedom Techniques, this  is a very effective 'tapping' therapy founded by Garry Craig in America, however, it has many variations since then. I am qualified in the original Garry Craig method of 'tapping' EFT.   This works well for everyone but is particularly effective as a rapid energy shifting vibrational therapy. It can be used with children, teenagers or adults and can be tried on almost any problem. EFT works by activating specific energy or meridian points mainly on the face and hands in order to release blockages and imbalance in the energy flow. Appointments &

IEMT is an Integral Eye Movement Therapy. It is a brief therapy that utilises simple eye movements and questioning techniques to change a particular thought pattern that may cause distress or discomfort. IEMT techniques help to create change by rapidly reducing unwanted feelings to help resolve issues.  It is a rapid change work therapy used for anxiety, depression and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and other traumas. When we are affected negatively by our memories, these emotions remain stored in the cells of the body until released and these negative memories can be triggered at any time, repeating the traumatic event response.

Life Coaching is another valuable approach to therapy. It clarifies, supports and motivates clients through their personal or career challenges. 

Using the skills of coaching alongside hypnotherapy or other approaches, it is a valuable bonus as it takes the therapy to a different level. It is not just removing negativity and replacing it with positive suggestions but, instead, as a Life Coach I can help you achieve your higher goals through discussion, guidance on possibilities or training needed, motivation, setting goals and guiding you through the relevant steps.  It is a wonderful stand alone therapy to improve confidence and achieve future goals for those who have no other emotional blockages or issues and it is great as part of an integrative therapy programme too.

In addition to Life Coaching, Energy Coaching is now gaining popularity. This puts the focus more on the client to become more aware of their own energy and learning techniques for themselves to utilise. LOA is Law of Attraction.

Law of Attraction is the universal laws theory that the energy of our thoughts (positive or negative) attracts experiences of the same energy to come into our lives (or manifest). The concept is generally summed up as "Like attracts like."  We use the expression 'it never rains but it pours', this is law of attraction in action!  Law of Attraction is energy or vibration based. Negative energy is heavy and attracts similar heavy circumstances, whereas, happy positive energy has a higher  vibration, a lighter energy, we feel good!

As a holistic therapist, at a core level I work with energy and vibration and regardless of the route taken, all therapy is aiming to help remove the negative blockages & discomforts, whether mental or physical, and replace them with positive thoughts. Doing this short term is easy enough but long term change most often needs the guidance of a professional therapist using some form of therapy or, as I do, with an integrative heart centred therapy, using analytical & solution focused, which I have built up over the years with many, many courses, workshops and training qualifications.
