Clinical Hypnotherapy


Integrative Therapy is the use of more than one therapy modality during the process of a therapy treatment or programme.

Hypnotherapy is a natural state of mind induced by the hypnotherapist. It is very relaxing, safe and peaceful, the conscious mind is completely relaxed allowing the therapist to connect with the deeper inner self, to bring about the positive changes that the client wants in their life. It can help relieve many problems, examples are weight loss to anxiety, self-esteem, stress, anxiety, coping with change or fears & more. 

For example, in addition to hypnotherapy, another beneficial therapy I offer is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), often called 'tapping'. This can be tried on almost any problem and is great for any age group, especially young people and for exam worries.  This can be a stand alone therapy session or as part of an integrative session. Another therapy which helps with trauma is the eye movement desensitization therapy which works so well within an integrative therapy session.

At our first meeting, in person or via zoom, we discuss your situation and aims, the therapy process or programme is then explained and agreed before we start the work. You will also have a download to listen to which supports and reinforces subtle change between sessions.

Sometimes analytical techniques may be employed in an attempt to uncover problems deemed to lie in a client's past or therapy may concentrate more on a client's current life and presenting problems. It is generally considered helpful if the client is personally motivated to change rather than relying solely on the therapist's efforts, although a belief in the possibility of beneficial change may be all that is needed to get started.
I work with each person and problem within a holistic heart centred approach. Then, from my 'therapy tool box' determine the combination that best suits your personality, challenges and personal preferences as I develop your treatment plan and talk you through the options with your goals in mind.

As each person is unique, I implement effective therapeutic techniques to find root causes, shift negativity, trauma, anxiety or unwanted habits, fears, behaviour, etc. It is important to accept that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: it is a healing transformative process that requires your readiness and commitment to participate and I am here to support you in  your journey towards achieving these wonderful positive changes, goals and dreams, letting go of the trauma, fears or worries that stop joy.

For example. if we want to lose or gain weight, stop smoking, cut back on binge drinking or eating, gain greater confidence or to change an unwanted unhelpful habit or problem, the conscious mind and willpower alone may not be enough!  This is where hypnotherapy helps. It can be an amazing therapy as it works with the deeper inner subconscious part of the mind, gently and rapidly, through therapeutic intervention, bringing about the positive changes needed, creating natural harmony between all parts of the mind, body and emotions. Hypnotherapy is a safe complementary therapy, it is a form of deep relaxation and this deeply relaxed state is required to allow that dreamlike subconscious part of your mind to be reached to therapeutically bring about the changes you have already discussed. It is a safe treatment, you are always in control and will remember everything. You are not asleep during your hypnotherapy session, you are fully aware and very relaxed. You may give the impression of being asleep because your body is calm and relaxed but 'hypnotic sleep' bears no resemblance to normal sleep, you are in the alpha state which is dreamlike, similar to how you feel just before going to sleep at night or on waking in the morning. This is a deep relaxation state achieved during the session to help put aside for awhile everyday active conscious thoughts, allowing the change you want to start to occur therapeutically.  Another example, of how hypnotherapy helps is with Exam, Work, Driving or Flying Nerves & Worries or Interview or Exam Stress or Fears as it helps to overcome these tensions and fears.

I offer an experienced, professional, confidential therapy and hypnotherapy service. Whilst most people require perhaps 3, 5 or 7 sessions within a Treatment Plan or Therapy Programme, each situation is different and the number of appointments and duration is discussed at the start.  Zoom sessions are equally as effective as in-person therapy and depending on your location may be more convenient for you.

Making that first contact is usually the hardest when it comes to going about a problem but once you do make contact with me and book your appointment, you can sit back and relax feeling proud that you've taken the first step, so, be brave, remember - you're worth it!
